Bunch of wusses
Everyone around here is scared of lightening and thunder. I'm big and brave and strong and fearless. What a bunch of wimps.
My trip to the ER

Thursday night was not a good night. I was feeling particularly mischievous for some reason and my foster folks were busy watching TV. My foster brothers were hiding (which was an indication to my foster dad that I was up to something). He went to find me. He found chewed up toilet paper with a nice trail of trash and TP down the hall. He cleaned that up, went into the master bedroom and found me walking around with a water bottle in my mouth. He chuckled obviously thinking I was the cutest thing ever. Then he noticed the chaos in the bathroom. I had gotten on the counter and ate some prescription medications, vitamins, aspirin, etc. I couldn't walk straight at this point and was running into the walls. My foster mom made a list of missing meds while my foster dad ran me to the vet. The vet pumped my stomach, called the CDC to check on drug interactions and gave me some meds. My foster folks were really worried and weren't sure I was going to make it. Much to their surprise the vet let me go home the same day. I was sleepy for two days, but am back to my same gregarious self.
My foster folks called my new folks in Alaska to let them know. My mom was in the shower so they talked to my dad. Well he fell asleep before telling my mom that I was ok. She got the frantic voice mails and fretted all night. I feel bad for worrying her.
My real parents are on their way to come get me. I can't wait to meet them, go to my permanent home and meet my siblings. It'll be a long drive but I'm looking forward to it. I know I'll miss Cooper and Buster, but I'm sure my new siblings will make me feel welcome.
3 Musketeers we are not
Ok...so I've got a beef with my foster brothers. Every time I get into something (i.e., on the counter, in the trash, etc) they leave the room. What happened to "All for One and One for All". They're a bunch of snitches.
More mischief

My foster folks have been busy...busy...busy and haven't had time help me update my blog. I've got a lot to update you on.
I met my foster-Grandma, Mary Ann. She liked me a lot. I followed her around and pestered her as much as possible during her visit. Here's a list of the pesty things I did.
1. Stole her foot scrubber and ran outside with it
2. Stole her eye cream and chewed the top off
3. Stole her foot scrubber again. I really liked it.
4. Ate 2 loaves of homemade banana bread.
She got a kick out of me and quickly learned to close her bathroom door.
My foster brothers and I were on the deck playing one afternoon. The deck is not nearly big enough for our rambunctious playing...so we decided to move the BBQ grill...and it's a big one. Everyone was surprised that we were able to move it and I love surprises!

Odds and ends

My foster dad took some various pictures of me doing all the things I love. I love to sit on the deck and watch the neighbor's. I like to play with Cooper and love hiding under the bar stool. And I fairly certain something tasty is hiding under the sofa. Aren't I cute?
I was a good boy last night. I had to go potty in the middle of the night and I woke up my foster mom rather than have an accident. She was very proud of me.
I also like to sleep in really weird positions. Sometimes on my back, sometimes wrapped around a corner, sometimes my body is going in different directions. I'm kind of a goof.
Oh...and my foster dad figured out that he isn't the alpha. I jumped up on the bed while he was lying with Peaches. He told me to get down, but I totally ignored him...he's a softy. My foster-mom was told me off once and I bolted all the way to the living room. She has a very commanding voice.

Call the cops...there's a thief in our midst
I'm so sneaky. My foster dad was heating up a breakfast burrito today. He left one on the counter while the other was in the microwave. I stole it off the counter. He found me outside with my prize. It was good!!!

Ouch!
I got my paws stuck in the gate today. I cried and cried while my foster dad got my feet out. It wouldn't have been so bad had I not panicked. I'm all better now and got extra treats to make me feel better.
My foster mom called the vet the other day because I'm still coughing a little. They're going to put me on some more medicine to kick this cold. I should feel 100% in no time!
Remember how I said that my foster mom was chasing me out of the kitchen with a squirt bottle. Well, my foster dad uses a lotion bottle, when the squirt bottle is out of reach, and it scares me just as much. He thinks it's funny that I run as soon as he picks up the lotion bottle.

Habits are hard to break

My foster parents aren't very happy with my habit of jumping on the bed when the alarm goes off in the morning. I like to jump right in the middle so I can be the first to say good morning. They tell me to get down right away, but I'm sure they appreciate my eagerness to greet them in the morning.
Let's see...other bad habits include - racing around the house, jumping on the couch, sniffing the counters, going in the kitchen and escaping from the yard. Any my foster folks all time favorite...rolling in horse poop!
Yep, I'm a lot of fun!

Oh boy I get to meet new people
My foster folks are having a BBQ today. I get to meet 6 new adults and 3 kids. I'm looking forward to making new friends. Hopefully my foster folks will take some good pictures of me today.

Oops I did it again!
I escaped from the back yard again today. Cooper and I had a great time running around the yard all day. Poor Buster couldn't scale the fence like us young bucks so he was stuck in the yard all day.
My foster parents said there is one more thing they can do to keep me safe...and that I may be locked in a kennel all day if I escape again. I don't want that to happen, but I'm just so darn adventurous.

Another rainy day

I had to get some of my energy out before Cooper and I were put in the inside kennel for the day. Buster even got in on the action. And then Peaches told us it was time to stop. She's such a buzz kill.
My foster folks bought some canned food for me today. They're hoping it motivates me to eat more. I'm a skinny guy.

Rain...Rain...Go Away
The weatherperson said it was going to rain all day today. My foster parents have a big dog run in the unfinished part of the basement. Cooper and I stayed in there all day. I suppose it was nice that I kept dry, but it's way more fun playing and digging outside. I hope we can stay outside tomorrow...it's really muddy and looks like fun!
My foster-mom is a bit of a stickler for manners. She's trying to teach me to stay out of the kitchen and off the sofa. She squirts me with vinegar when I forget my manners. I better learn quick because I hate vinegar! Cooper and Buster have already learned to clear the room when the squirt bottle comes out.
Oh and I got my first heart worm pill today. It was yummy.

I'm a character
Everyone was in the living room this morning and I was hungry. The problem is that my food was in another room. That's easy enough to fix I thought. I picked up my food bowl carried it into the living room and dumped food everywhere. Problem solved.
I got brushed today. My foster dad got 3 full brushes off of me. I'll be cooler tomorrow that's for sure!

Just another day on the ranch

My foster dad worked outside today and I got to keep him company. Truth be told, I ran around with Cooper and Buster while he worked. I got to play in the back yard and roll in the grass. I love grass!
My foster brothers and I ran and ran all day. We got to play with the horses and I didn't even roll in poop. My foster folks were very happy.
My foster dad tried to take a picture of me sitting on the John Deere lawn tractor. I was scared and didn't want to stay. Cooper did it and made me look bad. He's such a suck up.
And as usual I slept like a king.

I'm a finicky eater
My foster folks keep trying to give me canned food so I can take my pills. I've decided I don't like canned food. I prefer to have my pills in meatloaf...thank you very much!

I learned where I stand

It was another great day. My foster brothers and I stayed in the dog run all day...much to my chagrin. I was playing with Cooper later that evening and apparently made him mad. He growled at me and then we had a stare-down. Cooper won and I acknowledged that he has a higher ranking in the pack.
Peaches is starting to play with me. At first I was really scared. I thought she might be mad at me. But I think she actually likes me.
She sometimes decides that playtime is over and reminds all of us that we need her permission to be rambunctious.

The best day ever

Well today is one for the record books. We were left home alone for the first time. I spent a good part of the morning playing with Buster and Cooper. And then I had an "ah ha" moment. I remembered that I could dig under the fence and explore. I dug a hole big enough for my foster brothers to get through. We spend the rest of the day exploring the property. I discovered horse manure. It's like pure gold...the best thing ever. I rolled and rolled in it. My side was matted with poo and I even had some in my ear.
My foster folks came home and the 3 Amigos (me and my foster brothers) gave them a welcome home party at the gate. They didn't look happy, but we sure were happy to see them.
My foster dad did some fiddling around in the back yard. He totally ruined my fun by installing an electric fence. And then he had the nerve to give me a bath. The smell of horse manure is like a fine perfume and it gets better with age. The nerve of some people.
I did get the best nights sleep ever.

I visit the vet
My foster dad took me to the vet at 3:00 today. I jumped out of the truck over my foster dad's shoulder and he couldn't hold onto the leash. I had a fabulous adventure running across Parker Road (all 6 lanes), investigated a car lot and marked a few fences. My foster dad was yelling at me (I have no idea why) and cars were honking. Whatever -- I was having a blast. Some guy finally wrangled me in and I was taken to the vet. The doctor confirmed that I have kennel cough and I'm on a bunch of medications. I'll feel better soon!

Memorial Day

I should probably take a minute to introduce my foster brothers & sister.
Peaches - she's a little schnauzer and told me right away that she is boss in this house. I've been staying away from her...but I know she'll welcome me sooner or later.
Buster - he's second in command. He's a 7 year old yellow lab. He likes to bark at me when we play. It drives my foster people nuts sometimes.
Cooper - he's a 2 1/2 year old Weimaraner. He's as crazy as me. Very hyper and fun to play with.
We spent Memorial day playing in the house because it was raining. We were rough-housing and actually moved the sofa. Whoops!
I'm feeling a little under the weather and my foster mom thinks I might have kennel cough. She's going to call the vet for me tomorrow.

Adoption Day

I was sitting in my kennel with an obnoxious puggle just waiting for the people that put me on hold to come back and take me home. I got sadder every hour I waited for them to show up.
A lot of people were looking at me through the window but no one was coming to get me. Finally I was taken out of my kennel and introduced to new people. They took me outside and gave me lots of attention.
I don't speak people but I was pretty sure they were thinking of taking me home. I had to wait until the next day to meet my new foster brothers and make sure we all got along. I immediately fell in love with them and knew I had found a new home.
The next day was the dreaded surgery...ugh! Then my new foster folks picked me up. I was supposed to be quiet and avoid activity, but I just couldn't contain myself. I explored the house and spent the rest of the day playing. I love my new foster family.
